Etta Place                 12x9" oil on panel                   1987

All right class, who was Etta Place?  That's right, among other things she was the lady friend of a certain Harry Longbaugh who, in those simpler times, was often referred to in the press as the Sundance Kid.

A hundred years ago Miss Place and Mr. Longabaugh stopped in New York for a photograph before sailing to South America with Butch Cassidy.     The photo below right proves that real cowboys aren't afraid to wear lace-up shoes.  Actor Robert Redford played him in the movies.  If you check out the film now, you'll see that Mr. Redford needed a haircut real bad.
